Husband Hunting: The Professional Bullriding Tournament, Day 2

At Madison Square Garden this weekend.

Guys, look at all the cowboys!  And such gentlemen.  Not one minute after we walked in, two lads in tight jeans offered to get us drinks from the open bar.

But they made it too easy.  I need a chase. First I had my eye on this vision in blue:

But he was way more into his beer than me.

Then this stud caught my eye:

But I think he was with the lady next to him (or dude behind him). Either way, he was taken.

This guy was too all about business:

And this dude just wanted to joust:

This guy’s built Ford tough (and you need to be, to put up with me, amirite fellas?), so he could totally work…

But. You guys. I think above all I need someone that can make me laugh. Someone that doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Someone that can dance:

And can help me with my makeup:

Maybe I found him?

Husband Hunting: Hurricane Irene Edition

Some folks think a hurricane is the perfect time to find a hurricane boyfriend, but I need more than someone to make out with when I’m stuck in my borough. I need someone to protect me from falling tree branches:

Or provide for me when all the bread is gone from the grocery store:

I need a Hurricane Husband.

So, today I went out looking for one in Astoria Park. And I found some good candidates!

I like this guy ’cause he’s a daredevil. But he’s too much of a loner.

This guy has a sweet ride. Which he’s using to get away from me.

The one in the red is hot, but he’s always with his bros.

Never mind, because I think I found my winner:

Because, duh. He has his own boat.

maybe it’s because i’m out of touch

But I had to look up what K2-Spice was.

My being old or whatever aside, I still think they could have made a smoother transition in the ad. I mean, it’s a pretty big leap now, right?

My suggestion:

R2-D2 was (um, is?) kid friendly

RJD2 makes the kids dance

R.J. Spice (who exists, I looked it up) means nothing to kids

Scary Spice (not a necessary link but I think it’s appropriate in this case) is kid-scary

K2-Spice is KID DEADLY.

There you have it! Much more logical.

I’m not usually one for sports movies,

But last night I saw a screening of Fake it So Real, a documentary about amateur wrestling at a Rooftop Films screening in Williamsburg.  And now I”ll  pretty much ONLY watch sports movies. Specifically, ones about wrestling.

More specifically, ones that  have real live wrestling matches after, with subjects from the film, preferably dudes from North Carolina who have awesome stage characters based around the size of their ass and enter the ring to “Baby Got Back.”

Yes, it’ll limit my choices, but I believe it’s worth it.

I mean, am I wrong?

Erin and Ryan had a wedding

And it was so great, you guys.

The lovely bride:

Boys, if you want to score points with the woman you are eventually going to marry (and/or just make every other dude look soooo baddd), make her flowers:

Like, from scratch, on like your second date (I know, right? WHAT? I can’t even handle it):

Headin’ out to the first dance:

And where I was for most of the afternoon:

Congrats you two! You made me cry but really, it’s cool. I had something in my eye that needed to get out anyway.

Los Angeles, 6/25/2011

Remind me to tell you about the time we tried to tie James’s bow tie using instructions from the internet but it didn’t work (they were too harrrdddd) so then we asked all the old guys we could find but none of them knew so then we asked the tailor across the street but they didn’t know but they directed James to “Frank” next door and Frank turned out to be the gay dude who worked at the hairdresser but he didn’t know either, but the older lady whose hair he was shampooing did and she was the one that eventually tied James’s tie.

Really, don’t forget to remind me. It’s pretty absurd.
