[B-BOY]: so yesterday i was at this fashion party
[B-BOY]: and this gross guy was hitting on me and my friend
[OHMYGODYOUGUYS]: ack
[B-BOY]: and he asked what we did for a living
[B-BOY]: and the best lie i could come up with was “mathematician.”
[B-BOY]: MATHEMATICIAN
[OHMYGODYOUGUYS]: haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
[B-BOY]: i had no way to back that up at all
[B-BOY]: like, what the crap does a mathematician do?
[OHMYGODYOUGUYS]: that’s the worst thing you could have said! then they ask you to do math in your head!
[B-BOY]: i gotta come up with a better fake profession
[OHMYGODYOUGUYS]: wanna know my party profession?
[OHMYGODYOUGUYS]: well first i’m honest and say writer
[OHMYGODYOUGUYS]: but they always ask what you write
[OHMYGODYOUGUYS]: then i say horoscopes
[B-BOY]: hahahaha
[B-BOY]: awesome.
[OHMYGODYOUGUYS]: that way, people will start asking me what theirs is and i can make up fun stuff
[B-BOY]: oh, that’s really good!
[OHMYGODYOUGUYS]: or just say they’re going to die of alcohol poisoning and then offer them a drink
[OHMYGODYOUGUYS]: great for parties
[B-BOY]: SO great!
OHMYGODYOUGUYS is the lovely and brilliant Emma Barker.
Mark Indelicato and Vanessa Williams at an ELLE party last Saturday.
(Sorry guys, I don’t watch the show.)
Yesterday at a signing for his new book, Workin’ It: RuPaul’s Guide to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Style.
The audience was fierce, too.
P.S. To those that have yet to check out the second season of Drag Race, WHAT THE CRAP ARE YOU WAITING FOR? If you need convincing (which, really?), here’s a fan vid for “Cover Girl,” with scenes from Season 1:
And … what.

Guys! Did you know curling was an Olympic sport?
Me neither!
But it is, and yesterday I got to try it.
Here are some pictures:
Another one to file under “random promotional events,” this one was a curling demonstration/scotch tasting with the link being that curling supposedly originated in Scotland (also, getting people tipsy and having them throw stones is obviously a great idea). Here’s Kari drinking some scotch.
The curling lane. Slippperryyyyy
Kari trying her hand at the sport (FYI, the stones are incredibly heavy),
and US Olympian (and all-around doll) Jessica Schultz showing us how it’s supposed to be done. Look at that form!
In case you’re like me and it slipped your mind, the 2010 Winter Olympics start February 11th in Vancouver. I’ll be watching now that I have someone to root for.
Sports!
So… sometimes record companies have crazy money to spend on promoting a band. Lucky for me, last night was one of those nights.
The company: EMI.
The band: The Constellations.
The venue: Brooklyn Bowl.
Bowling.
(He’s shocked at how unskilled I am.)
The band,
and the booze. Lots and lots of booze.
Kim’s super serious about her margarita.
Just kidding!
But look! I won a trophy! For reals!
(Nah, everybody got one.)
Not pictured but definitely worth mentioning: The Blue Ribbon menu. Although, I will say that BBQ wings, while delicious, don’t really go well with handling bowling balls. Good thing there were lots of wet naps
(moist wipes? towelettes? Every way of describing them is awkward)
handy.
