This post is dedicated to Sue, for she is a big U2 fan.
Sue:
U2’s new album No Line on the Horizon came out today, and for the next week a portion of W.53rd St. will be re-named U2 Way. I can’t reflect on this any better than Bono did:
“The Beatles had Penny Lane, Elvis lived on the end of Lonely Street. We’re here somewhere between 10th Avenue and funky, funky Broadway, somewhere south of Duke Ellington Way and north of Joey Ramone Place we find ourselves … where the streets have no name.”
Then hep-cat Mayor Bloomberg chimed in:
“It’s a beautiful day, to quote a famous Irish rock band.”
Haaaaaaaaaa.
Anyway, the Dubliners are in town for about a week, playing five consecutive nights on Letterman and performing on Good Morning America Friday at 8am, location TBD.
So Sue (and anyone else that wants to join), when are we gonna take pics with (or steal) this sign?
*Forgive me, I really didn’t want to do another punny variation on Where the Streets Have No Name. I realize this isn’t much better, but at least I got my favorite U2 song in.

B-Boy Limping 
There are many awkward moments here. But that’s ok, I still love the Joshua Tree and think it’s good enough to make up for these self-quoting/awkward mayor moments. And holy crankers, I work just a few avenues away!
